Hazrat Bilal (RA) once asked: How did you first see the Holy Prophet (saw)?
Bilal says: I knew very little about the people of Makkah. Because I was a slave and humanitarian behavior was very common among the slaves in Arabia, they were used more than I could afford, so I never had time to go out and meet people, so I had to be holy or Islam or this. There was absolutely no knowledge of such thing .
One time I had a severe fever. It was a harsh winter season and the extreme cold and the fever kept me weak, so I shuffled and lay down. On the other hand, my boss, who came to see if I was grinding or grinning, got mad at me for looking at the latte. He took off his shirt and took off my shirt for punishment and sat me at the door in the open yard to sit here.
Now the severe cold, the fever from above, and such a laborious task, I used to weep and barley. Shortly after knocking on the door, I was allowed to come in. A very handsome and light-faced man came in and asked why the young man was crying?
In response, I said, "Do your job, whatever you want to do with it, there are many who ask here, but no one does it."
The short story is that Bilal uttered harsh words to the Holy Prophet. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard these words. I did not say that everyone is asking, no one does it.
The Holy Prophet continued to hear this. Bilal says that the slightest hope in his heart that this person would be of any help was gone. But what does Bilal know that the person to whom he now belongs is Rahmat-ul-Alamin?
Bilal says that the man returned shortly after. He had a cup of hot milk in one hand and palms in the other. He gave me those dates and milk and said, "Eat and go to bed."
I said then who will pay this barley? If you do not drink, the owner will kill you very much in the morning. He said, "Go to sleep. Take this crushed one from me."
Bilal fell asleep and the Holy Prophet spent the whole night grinding for an alien Ethiopian slave.
In the morning Bilal crushed those who gave in and left. It happened again the other night, gave milk and medicine to Bilal and got all night's money. Do this continuously for three days until Bilal is fine.
It was the introduction by which this infinite love was born that Bilal is still called companion of the Prophet and later, the first lover.
The Bilal who does not pray one day if Allah Almighty prevents the sun from rising, he stopped praying after the Holy Prophet's ascension, because when he reached 'Ishihadin ana Muhammedda Rasoolullah Allah' Hiccups were tied up and cries began to cry.
This spirit of brotherhood and brotherhood is so powerful.
May Allah grant all of us the action. Amen
